Harper has met the leaders of the major parties in the last few days, and they're not promising to support him (misnomer, they never did) so away we go. Any predictions? I predict yet another hung Parliament. Personally I don't know if I'll vote for Libby Davies or the Green party. While I will be voting CPC again, this election will result with basically the same outcome. Another Conservative minority. They will probably have fewer Ontario seats, but will make up for that with Quebec seats at the expense of the Bloc. The only party that will see any benefit at all will be the NDP who will take seats away from the Liberals as long as they can subvert the Greens enough to avoid having the Left-wing vote split. I like Jack Layton and I trust them more on issues like the environment and protecting and strengthening public Healthcare. I also like their positions on education and the arts aswell their progressive social values. But that's just my feeling coming in. i could change my mind. I intend on taking a close look at each of their platforms before deciding.

All the parties are aware that no one is going to want another election right away, but at the same time they aren't going to let Stephen Harper do whatever he wants until then, just until the Liberals can rebuild. The liberals are going to lay low for awhile until they've elected a new leader and can rejuvenate the party, Jack and the NDP will act as if they are really the official oposition and the only ones who can stand up to Harper, the Bloc will keep doing it's thing, and Harper unfortunately will govern unoposed as if he has a majority since the Liberals will be to afraid to pull the plug for quite awhile yet. A pretty sad state of affairs in Canadian politics if you ask me.
